UPLOADING...

It could be said that we are in a world losing its physicality. Uploading... (2021), takes this to its heart, exploring the boundary between the 'real' and the virtual space. In recent times the virtual space is becoming dominant, we are uploading our lives online, and we are becoming digitalised and more dependent on technology. Where is the human interaction? Where is the physical touch of being? I question this being, this nature and environment where we are growing ever so dependent on technology, and explore post-humanism as a concept. As someone that focuses on works with still life and the banality, Uploading… (2021) takes my exploration of the everyday space and questions the existence of the 'virtual every day', what could be said as ‘the new every day'' From video calls and buffer bars to looking at family photos and waiting for a connection to view them. All-new experiences, that pre-21st century, would've been seen as unbelievable or hard to adapt to. Uploading… (2021), takes into consideration the gradual adapting to technology, how we have evolved to rely on modern technology and the loss of physical life, to a digital one.
